What I would advise my younger self- Part 1
Often times, I have wished I could go back in time and have conversations with my younger self.
Here is what I would advise myself:
1. Remember as a child how you always wanted everything immediately and instantly.
Over the years, you will realize that some of the best things in life come only after you have invested enough time, effort and emotions. So learn to enjoy the journey. Those journeys will teach you lessons that you would have never realized had you achieved everything instantly.
2. I know, for a long time you have thought you could change the world

2. I know, for a long time you have thought you could change the world
As you move ahead in life, you will have some successes which will buoy you and make you even more ambitious. But there will also be times, when in spite of all your good intentions, passion and hard work you will realize that you cannot change everything and everybody. At such times, learn to accept that the time has not yet come or it is simply not meant to be so. You will come to realize there is great power in acceptance.
3. As a child you were bought up on stories of fairness, justice, harmony, collaboration.
When you enter the world of grown-ups; you will sometimes meet people who are difficult, acrimonious and even downright petty. Your job at such times is to not react to them in the same coin. When managing such people, learn to go beyond their external behavior and try to hear all that is left unsaid. If they continue to remain unchanged and you have no option but to deal with them, remember that you need to manage your karma and leave them to deal with theirs.
4. For a long time, you believed that a successful life is one where you have a great career, external validation and all the good things it brings.
As you age, you will realize that all this really means nothing. No amount of money and power makes you happy. That is when you will realize that what really matters is meaningful work where you work with purpose and passion and get an opportunity to inspire and be inspired.
5. Remember how excited you got when things turned out exactly the way you wanted them to be and how disappointed you were when they didn’t.
The most important lesson life will teach you is that nothing is permanent. Your job is to not despair when things don’t go your way and keep yourself grounded when they do. Over time, you will realize how all your experiences whether good or bad were essential for your evolution.
